This video highlights ten technological experiences across China, starting with a tour of automated electric vehicle manufacturing at the Xiaomi Hyperfactory in Beijing. It features humanoid robots, exoskeletons, and automated services at the 6S Robot and AI Store in Shenzhen, alongside historical computing displays at the Science and Technology Museum. The overview also covers drone food deliveries, autonomous robotaxis, hospitality robots, smartphone innovations, levitating plates at Orbit One restaurant, and modern city architecture.
Xiaomi Hyperfactory tour
The host tours the Xiaomi Hyperfactory in Beijing, showing massive automated manufacturing lines, high-pressure stamping, and electric vehicle production.
World's first robot and AI store
Visiting the 6S Robot and AI Store in Shenzhen, the host tries an exoskeleton, receives a robot massage, orders robot coffee, and interacts with humanoid robots.
Science & Technology Museum
The host explores the Science and Technology Museum, featuring displays on AI, semiconductor history, and interactive robot games.
Drones and autonomous vehicles
The host highlights ultra-fast drone food delivery services and experiences hands-free self-driving cars and robotaxis across Chinese cities.
Everyday service robots
A showcase of automated delivery and hospitality robots operating in hotels, public venues, and food kiosks.
Smartphones and tech flagship stores
The host reviews Chinese smartphone camera and battery innovations, then visits massive brand flagship experience centers.
Levitating plates and futuristic cityscapes
The host visits Orbit One restaurant to see magnetically levitating serving plates, concluding with futuristic urban architecture in China.
Okay, so here's my top 10 to experience the future of tech in China.
Let's go!
My number 1 was visiting the Xiaomi Hyperfactory, seeing the machines making the machines and the future of automated manufacturing.
It was absolutely insane to see it live. It's 91% automated, every 71 seconds per car. There's more than 800 robots and only 100 employees. They have the world's strongest hyperpress at 9,100 tons of pressure. For example, the Cybertruck one is 9,000 tons. The cars coming out of this factory became number 1 best-selling car in China, overtaking Tesla Model Y. This is the only place where R&D and raw materials go in on one end and out comes a car the other end that's delivered on the same premises. They're now making up to 50,000 cars a month, which is getting to a Tesla level of production output.
Number 2 was visiting the world's first robot store, 6S, where they were demoing and selling the robots from humanoids, robot dogs, and all kinds of educational toys. I tried the HyperShell exoskeleton. That was pretty interesting, and it totally worked by making it much easier to run and walk by pulling your legs forward. I got a massage from a robot. I also got a coffee from a robot barista where you can choose exactly what kind of latte art you wanted to make. And it had 2 arms for espresso and pouring the milk. I then played around with humanoid boxing game, using my mind to raise spider robots, and experienced the future of war with Unitree robot dog shooting game.
Of course, there were also humanoids dancing and playing pianos. In addition, there was a future technology store focused on AI where they showcased a lot of AI devices from medical analysis to selling dedicated OpenCLaw machines and, and training people to set it up. While I did visit and also like the Inno100 showcase, I feel like the 6S store was much more impactful.
Number 3 was visiting the brand new science and Technology Museum in Shenzhen.
It was a highly immersive experience to learn about the history of compute, AI, how the machine learning models are developed, how the chips are built, UV lithography, and so on. 80% Of it was interactive, so there's some fun bars to see a robot draw, you can race robots for air hockey, you can solve Rubik's Cube or do whack-a-mole against the robots. And in general, great to see an optimistic take on the future of technology.
Number 4 is drone delivery, or just seeing drones fly around in the city in addition to daily deliveries like food and drinks being delivered in 15 to 20 minutes. Number 5 was experiencing self-driving cars from companies like Xiaomi, XPeng, and Huawei.
And trying out the robotaxi experience from companies like Ponyride. These experiences are almost at the level of Waymo and Tesla in the West, in addition to bringing the ultra-luxury experience in cars to the next level. But I also made a specific video just about cars, so you can check it out.
Number 6 is interacting with robots who are delivering and making things.
For example, the little delivery robots in hotel lobbies and buildings delivering food and drinks to your door, as well as robots making food and drinks in cafes. Number 7 was experiencing Chinese smartphones where the camera sensors are the size of a pocket camera And batteries are about 50% larger and last longer than iPhones and Samsung phones.
Number 8 was visiting the tech flagship stores in Shenzhen and Beijing.
DJI, Huawei, Xiaomi, and Bambu Lab flagships are interactive experiences that show you the future of tech. Everything from cars to phones to home, all in the same space.
And number 9 were those levitating plates at an Orbit One restaurant.
With magnetic levitation, the plates are automatically moving from kitchen to tables.
And number 10 is to live an everyday life that looks and feels like the future. And you can check out my video on the everyday life in China for more.
